Microsoft has every right being in security
Microsoft has every right to be in security as long as their tools are included for free with the OS. Windows is the target of most of the hackers and the users should not have to pay Symantec or McAfee for a computer condom that slows performance and in some cases breaks your computer. Microsoft has a vested interest in keeping their OS secure and virus free. The anti-virus companies, on the other hand, make no money from hack-proof systems.
