Nice sentiment, bad idea.
He shouldn't be questioning the NEED for the industry ... quite obviously the need exists, and would exist even if computers were ten times as secure as they are now.

Since the only secure computer is one that is disconnected from everything and switched off, we have to realize that the potential for insecurity exists in any functional system. All that remains open for discussion is the degree of insecurity in the system.

Anyway, people and procedures are the weakest link in infosec. There is no antivirus for stupid.
