Crash could be a big issue.
Lets think this through; if Trend goes down their users cant access them so what happens then? They cant get connectivity with websites as Trend is unable to verify? Or perhaps there is some kind of "workaround" that still allows surfing when/if Trend is down, but then the key for hackers would be to work that "workaround" into their system in such a way as to operate the same way as if Trend was down getting you into their bogus site, thinking Trend has okayed it. The way I see it it wouldn't be long before this half baked scheme would be just as vulnerable as any security scheme and would just provide new opportunity for problems and clever hacking methods.
