Not Root Access
Joris Evers wrote: "a type of attack more familiar to Windows users."

Most browser attacks on Windows result in root access to the system since all
users had root level access to the system. Only in the last 6 months, has been
changed in Vista.

Suspiciously absent from the story is the fact that this hack DID NOT provide root
access to the system. The prize for gaining root access was never claimed.

Actually, Apple implements their own Java runtime, instead of waiting for Sun to
implement a runtime for them. As such, if the flaw was in Java or Quicktime, Apple
would still be responsible.
