Absolutely. That's why I use open-source software. It's developers are focused exclusively on good, reliable code and all their design decisions are made with that goal in mind. And you only have to install what you want or need. Perfect for the enterprise.

You're right. Why should my company have to worry about patching Media Player when that application has nothing to do with the business? It seems Microsoft has expended a lot of effort to leverage its desktop OS monopoly to promote what should be optional applications, and security is the big loser. Way to go, Microsoft. Wake up, MS shills.
