Pathetic actually

I remember when we didn't NEED virus protection; I remember when the software first appeared and the updates were FREE.

I remember when they first started charging (very small fee) and feeling outraged at it! Then the fees went up and so did my feeling of being taken advantage of.

Poorly written software that I've paid for now has to have more software installed to protect it! And I get to pay on a regular basis for this protection.

Of course is the software wasn't as vunerable, the virus protection companies wouldn't be in business.

So I ponied up for the virus protection, ran a free firewall - Zone Alarm, added worm protection - Moo Soft, and test my system to prove it was running in STEALTH mode. I spent once a week updating all this stuff - religiously. Never clicked on anything and fixed many friends machines that weren't set up like mine.

4 years ago I said enough! I love my Mac.
