So Why Hasn't There Been a Mac Attack?
Macs have a 5-6% market share now in the US. If all the FUD about Macs was true and you were correct then Macs should have a least 5% of the viruses. But they don't, they have 0%. It is true that anything made by man can be compromised by man, but it's simpleminded to believe that there is no difference between a closed and proprietary OS like Windows that had security cobbled onto it after the fact and an OS with an open source kernel that has been looked at and attacked by the best for nearly 30 years and was designed from the ground up to be secure.

Windows can be made more secure by diligence and the right tools. Vista improves on that somewhat at the cost of usability. OS X ships secure and usable and has been that way since it shipped.

Apple made a decision that stability and security were more important than backwards compatibility. Apple had an advantage in that area because it didn't have a huge installed enterprise user base like MS. But MS can't whine and get a pass for past success. It still has a product that has been poorly designed from a security point of view and the MS apologists who claim otherwise need to wipe that Kool-Aid mustache off before speaking . . . .
