it only works if you pay the piper to have it update itself. Get with it. Almost all those AV's that come with the PC, you know the ones that the user thinks is protecting their machine. have to be paid for. Most users are not going to pay an annual fee to keep their AV functional. Also most users are to ignorant of the fact there are other options out there.

Most users, unless they are trained, treat their PC's like toasters. And they expect that same level of ease of use. Also most PC's no not automatically update themselves. They have to be set up that way and generally when a Windows PC comes from a vendor it's not set up that way and in many cases if it comes from places like circuit city, it's so out of date and not configured with complete security they are infected withing moments of connecting to the internet.

This is the reality of the computing world. You are living in denial about the truth of what really happens out there. It's no different than people and car maintenance. Only about 20% of the population in the United States has an active and current maintenance program in place for their vehicles. And they are more expensive to purchase than a PC, so what makes you think these same people that don't perform regular maintenance on their vehicles are going to do it on their PCs? devil
