- Sasser Didn't Kill My Servers Microsoft DID...
-
You know I hate viruses, I dislike the guys out there who hide behind a shield of doing to to show Microsoft that their software has a problem.. ( who are they kidding this isn't a public service piece of software ) But Sasser didn't kill my machines, they were working just fine and uneffected while the virus was running rampant. What killed my machines was the microsoft patch used to protect the machine from the sasser worm.
Installing this fix pegs the cpu to 100% trying to load over and over processes that can't or will not start.. (Feedback from Microsoft) So we head back to microsoft for another Hotfix for this, well it didn't work either, except now i have 4 processes sharing 100% of the processor usage, still making the servers useless... Sometimes I wonder what is worst the virus, or the fix.. Bottom line, I'll get it fixed today, i'm waiting for my copies of Windows Server 2003 to arrive, look Microsoft gets another $3,000 from me.... Certianly the virus didn't hurt Microsoft, their patches just hurt our pocketbook.... - Posted by: john@... Posted on: 05/12/04 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
