Attorneys line up to represent Sasser author.
In a surprising move the original author has filed a coyright infringment suit against the so called copycat authors. In a statement to the court he said he had invested many long hours in developing the code and has sole and exclusive rights to it and any damage it may create.

He is suing for an undisclosed amount of financial compensation and that any use of his copyrighted code carry his EULA with a click through for users to agree to using his virus code on their machines.

In an out of court stament the author was quoted to say, " it's my code and I deserve all the credit for the damage it creates and I won't let some script kiddy get away with stealing it!".

In another surprising move Microsoft stated they believe in and support IP ownership and they stand behind the author's claims 100%. Jim Alchin, V.P. of Windows said in an interview that "we at Microsoft have the greatest respect for IP and the author deserves the full reward of having created it. He should be the one to recieve the full prison term and anyone that uses his copyrighted code should surender part of any prison term they may recieve to the rightfull owner and author of the code".

However it is also important to note the FFC has asked that the code be reviewed as they believe there is prior art that will affect the claim of complete ownership...
