MS Updates are just a pain
they reboot your computer when you dont want to, it adds on applications that MS wants and you dont like. Makes your computer slower and now to try to limit Firefox, they are using it to make it problematic for Firefox to work with the operating system.

Haven't we seen this before, lets ask those other companies that tried to take on MS, that would be Netscape, Lotus, WordPerfect, keep on.. you know them!!

So when MS has a problem or an enhancement and it indirectly affects competition, the track records sais beware competition.

Nice thing about it now is that Linux does exists, if only if, its interface and fonts would be a bit more cleaner, a more elegant, then it would be trouble for MS, in the mean time. Live with what they push out (that's what Updates are).

The idea is great, but you should have the choice and not be forced on you like they like to do so. I have mine turned off.
