Windows Update Problem
Scenario: you are an ISP, you constantly advise your clients to keep antivirus, firewall and windows updated. You tell them to turn on automatic updates to ensure this.
All of a sudden the phone calls start. Several hundred of your customers have E-Machines with the RealTek problem. Your customers don't give a flying gnats behind about dlls and most don't even have a clue as to what they are. All they know is that an update from Microsoft crashed their software and they are calling you to find out how to fix it. The E-Machine didn't change, RealTek didn't change, only Microsoft changed . . so who do you blame. Microsoft knew about this and did not bother to post any warning, even knowing there are thousands of E-Machines that would be affected.
So . . . how many hours did you spend dealing with your customers???
