Question to Vista users

Yes, I know it's going to show how little I know about Vista internals. I don't mind being ignorant of a product that I've currently no interest in using. Since I've been using MS products since 6.22, that fact alone should give the PR department a fit of colic. But it won't.
In XP I see one of the most stupid things ever done by any manufacturer, and am curious if it is also a "feature" of Vista.

Are a significant percentage of the "system" files in Vista still bearing the labels of the earlier Microsoft OS they where cut and pasted from?
Ford would never use a part in a Crown Vic that was clearly marked "Edsel" even if the part is identical. People expect NEW to be a specific set of conditions that means more than a new box with a round corner.
Seemed that every third file I looked at in XP was labeled NT. Is this a tradition carried on in Vista?
