Faulty analogy
You left out that the door actually wasn't unlocked. It used the new keypad electronic locks. But this guy knew of a place where you could get a device that could sniff out the keypad combination and used it to open the door. But in so doing he accidentally messed up the electronic security system of the car so that every time the owner started the engine the security system would shut it off.

That is the correct analogy to the sasser worm.
