A difference to the MS approach...
>>> Like it or not, the adage of "throw *** against the wall and see what sticks" has ALWAYS been a good approach to new markets.

How many "new" cars and trucks do you see at the auto shows and never see put into production??? >>>

Re The auto show comparison... Car companies do show concept or "exotic" designs for reaction or hints to future models but at this point, they are just "ideas" for show, PR and feedback. They do not generally just jump into production.

If these car companies acted like MS, they would build autos, trucks, SUVs, whatever... for every successful (or potentially successful) market segment on pure reflex... see a market... build something to cash in and hopefully dominate. They would skip the trial concepts and jump in immediately, hoping "the s*** would stick" so to speak. (Would the Pontiac Aztec be the automotive equivalent to MSBob? happy )

It's the MS mindset and subsequent MO (obsession with and methods of dominating any and all markets) and it's bottomless pit of money (that allows it to throw caution to the wind and have a "money is no object/losses no problem" approach) that makes it rather unique.

As I opined... MS should concentrate on fixing what it already distributes instead of acting the greedy, spoiled little child that has to have it all, even if it doesn't really need it and especially if it's not competent at doing it.
