- I'm a pack rat -- I never delete ANYTHING...
-
of course it's ALL personal stuff on my personal computer, but then as we're discussing now, is anything really "personal" in this internet age?
When and if I DO start deleting stuff (actually, I DO delete duplicates and files I no longer have use for, and junk email, etc., but I keep all read email, and so forth)... Anyway, when and if the day comes I DO do some serious deletions, you can be your bottom dollar I'll be doing some encrypted, zero-writing deletion, not just deleting File Allocation Table references, like a normal "deletion" does.
I've never done a zero-write deletion, and as far as I know, I don't have anything illegal on my computer, but I can certainly see the day when even the average citizen may have the need for that, and I may not be too paranoid in saying that day could be far closer than any of us would be comfortable with. - Posted by: Jeff Hayes Posted on: 03/31/07 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
