So, MS is the "Software Giant" who writes professional s/w that large corporations and organizations rely on to carry out their business.

Why isn't MS held responsible for making it so conspicuously EASY for ANY irresponsible youngster or crazy adult to compromise their systems and convert them into worm/virus broadcast centers? MS offers the TOOLS to these crazy people so that they can wreak havoc or disrupt massively the operations of innocent users. It's as if someone makes it exceedingly easy for anyone to acquire a weapon and use it at will.

There are ALWAYS going to be irresponsible youngsters -- which is not surprising -- and crazy / bitter people out there. Why do we allow them access to resources to bring about damage?

But, MS now takes the tack to mobilize Interpoll and FBI to chase down all these possibly 1000s of people that can STILL write a destructive piece of s/w.

I bet, this is a pre-emptive move by MS so that it will have something to demonstrate as a step towards the right direction, in case it gets sued for basically giving crazy people the resources to cause damage.

What happened to Trustworthy Computing? It still remains Trashworthy.
