Makes not sense, just makes it more exciting for virus writers
Really, Microsoft needs to stop adding features until they get this under control. But, they are planning on a new operating system with major portions re-written and major new features. You first need to understand the limits of human beings to generate such large amounts of code without thousands of security holes.

Well, Microsoft probably understands that all too well, but the problem there is this thing chasing them called Linux. They really need to add features and apis as fast as possible to keep customers locked in. If operating systems become comodities, that would cost Microsoft billions per year. These are big stakes, and YOUR security is NOT important to Microsoft compared to the billions per year rolling in. They are in business to make money aren't they?
