Maybe because...
There hasn't been a third-party, non-biased investigation. Microsoft's best interests would be served by continuing to convince us that their servers are secure.

Past history tends to show otherwise, but I'm willing to give Microsoft the benefit of the doubt until ALL the facts are shaken out in this case. So far, they haven't been. It remains to be seen who's correct in all this.

It's still a he said/she said thing. Microsoft hasn't done anything more than those who claim their accounts were hacked - the victims made their statements, and Microsoft has responded with their own statement.

Facts, Loverock, require proof of some kind. The word of anybody - including your holy deity, Microsoft - isn't worth the air used to speak them until there is something tangible, or investigation by an uninvolved party, to back up their statements.
