Easier than you think...
I had thought so to at first, but after I played with it, I realllllly like it. it allows you to allow or block by domain interactively, so I can allow the URL (permenantly or just for the session) I'm reading and at the same time block doubleclick.com or google-analytics.com, with just a click or 2. also just about any add that is hosted on a foreign domain gets blocked as well. very handy and speeds up load times. you do have to blanket "allow" a few key sites, but if you don't trust those you might as well stop paying your ISP.

it won;t cure all your ills, but it's a far sight better than going without.

I try not to evangalize, and i won't pimp software that dosn't really impress me, but this ones worth the note.
