patching against Ms vulnerabilities
The problem with corporate environments are that these patches do cause problems. Most times they seem to work OK but every now and then it causes BSOD (on some NT4 system - nice) or they cause applications to stop working. I have had problems with both. These were certified patches from M$.

Explain that to your boss that your server has gone down due to a oatch or a laptop user cannot have there system patched due to hw driver incompatibility with the patch. What do you do then.

The other issue is to try and patch systems that arent easily manageable because someone is traveling and wont be in a office for 2 weeks. Nice gap for infection.

Desktops are easy chuck of the user, patch and cross your fingers hoping the system comes up. sad
