Yep Vaporware.

Pre-release or pre-beta? Really you're talking about a CD
with the word Longhorn on it.

What did Greg Sullivan, lead product manager for windows,
mean when he said in April this year

Feature list not known, ZDNet article quotes security plan
unknown, core components still WIP with none complete
with APIs... yep vapourware.

"You must be talking about a decent GUI for Linux"

Gnome and KDE (on X11) are certainly not without their
problems but more complete than your pre-release version
of Avalon:-)
