My sattellite reciever is only used to change channels. I do not keep mine hooked into the phone lines therefore there is no upload capacity. I only use this appliance to change channels.

Allowing access to my boxes is a completely different thing entirely. I refuse to allow access to my data by any third party for the purposes of denying me access to any percieved "unapproved" data or app.

Most consumers who are aware of the implications would also be opposed to this invasive form of control which, in reality, has more to do with expaning revenue potential than it does with security.
