You'll stick with illogic
NonZealot doesn't seem to live up to his handle:

I'll stick with Windows where my system is never exploited and I don't have to
jump through hoops to run Windows programs

All that means is you know how to administer your Windows computer properly.
Most people don't, and shouldn't have to do the extra work it takes just to patch
the security problems inherent in Windows. What you see as easy, the average
person doesn't, and never will. Under OS X, the average user has far greater
protection automatically, and doesn't have to do nearly the amount of extra work
that's required to keep Windows secure.

my computer can be bought from any hardware manufacturer instead of just
one who charges me about double what anyone else charges for exactly the same
hardware.

Nonsense. Arguments about pricing between Macs and Windows PCs practically
always show the pricing is so close between similarly equipped computers,
especially with Intel-based Macs, or even in the Mac's favor, that pricing isn't an
issue. I can tell you haven't bothered to read any of these analyses, or bothered to
believe them.

you obviously missed the bit that said it doesn't appear that any attacks.... The
term "doesn't appear" now means "did not" to you? Do you run anti-virus
software? If you don't, you really have no idea whether your system has been
pwned.

Ummm?if OS X had been subject to widespread attacks, it would make
widespread news. Enough people run antivirus software on Macs to determine
whether any such attacks have occurred. They haven't--get over it. Odd that
you'd use a line of reasoning with such an obvious hole in it.

Another thing to think about is the fact that these 45 mega patches don't imply
that the system is now, finally, secure. Just the opposite. If 45 mega vulnerabilities
have been in OSX for the last 7 years, chances are good that there are another
4,500 in there being exploited right now. Again, without running anti-virus, you
really have no idea.

You don't appear to understand completely the terms used in some things you
read. The term "mega patch" applies to the number of patches in this single patch
release, not that each problem that each patch fixes was a mega problem. And
where do you get the figure 4,500? Weird. If there were even half that number of
vulnerabilities being exploited, we'd definitely hear about it, and you'd be citing
such widespread mayhem. You haven't cited any such events, but instead you try
to tell people to worry that these problems must be happening without being
visible just because they aren't running antivirus software. This is the line of
argument from someone who writes and sells antivirus software. Is that what you
do?

C'mon. Anyone who wants to start an argument, as you do, should come armed
with something a lot harder to dismiss.
