We need an "idiot crusade" to protect Granniess, kids' and newbies' PCs.
It's fantastic that the Anycast shield worked--this time.

But how many tens of thousands of unprotected PCs were used in this attack and still remain wide open?

How many people (companies?) "have" a malware solution, but think it's magic--that just buying it will protect them, no further attention needed?

How many malware solutions fail to auto-update daily and are months behind? Or their developers don't dedicate enough lab time and money to staying abreast of the latest threats?

Because the USA is a formal target from the Mideast, North Korea, and China, and an informal target from a dozen other areas, we all need to start our own personal crusade to get every PC we know about protected.

It's not the Gubbamint's job to watch your house if you leave your door open. It's *your* ICANN (and your livelihood!) those creeps want to crush. You can be totally up-to-date and vigilant, but without a DNS, you're in the same boat as Gramps.

Send emails to people you know who are likely to have taken insufficient steps. Tell them your favorite solutions, and some free ones.

We're all in the same boat. Let's bail and paddle.
