Source of the attack?

Great that the new technology worked, but what about the origins of the attack? Imagine if in your place of business your IT dept. announced that a targeted attack to hack into the accounting services by the shipping department was sucessfully thwarted on most of the machines. We'll patch the two remaining boxes... How about - We've determined who was responsible for the attack and put them in jail for a very, very long time - or how about we've turned off APANIC's access to the internet until they find out who was responsible for this attack - that would get things moving quickly.
