I think it's that animosity, you were talking about.
Let's face it, Microsoft has done (and is still doing) some things,
that leave a bad taste in it's customers mouths. They treat the
end user as a criminal, guilty till proven innocent. They also tell
the end users, "we know better than you do what you want".
They've also employed very underhanded tactics, remember the
"We have a way out" campaign? Complain about UNIX servers, on
a website hosted on UNIX. Or the "Confessions of a Mac to
windows switcher", which was written by an advertising firm
(totally made up). How about the whole SCO FUD circus? Or
breaking laws and paying fines as normal business practice. If
you look at a majority of the Articles on ZDNet, partially owned
by Vulcan Ventures (which is partially owned by none other than
Paul Allen, cofounder of Microsoft), they try to paint Apple in the
worst possible light.
