- Thousands of Hijacked Seller Accounts with Scan Auctions on eBay TODAY
-
I am an eBay member since 1999 and saw this great Company progress from an awesome growing company to what it has become today.
In recent news you will find an interesting collection of Vladuz stories, just Google for Vladuz eBay if you need to catch up.
As eBay CEO made her speech, in one single day that dreaded eBay hacker/scammer/phisher compromised close to 100 active legitimate eBay seller accounts, just in eBay Motors section and injected his gmail.com scam email address to the sellers legitimate auctions. It appears that almost 3 weeks after the Hacker challenged eBay in eBay's own forums the fellow still happily hacks and scams right on eBay's turf. It is not difficult to locate the compromised sellers and the hijacked auctions, we do it every day with simple public access to eBay.
Yet this hacker is let free on eBay site and it appears that eBay is pointing fingers at Phishers threatening the user trust. Phishers will always be there, eBay lets Vladuz and hundreds of his likes freely scam eBay users on daily basis.
The numbers of scammers/phishers on eBay were discussed in this article : http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,257063,00.html?sPage=fnc.technology/cybersecurity
He's just another phisher, says eBay spokeswoman Catherine England, one of hundreds the huge auction site has to deal with constantly.
Just a few hours after eBay CEO made her speach, Vladuz hacker went to work and compromised close to 100 distinct seller auctions with his famous large letter advertisement

This scammer appears to be able to choose from active auctions
on eBay Motors and any other areas and at his will, inject his
signature and email address into just about any high priced
auction he pleases.
Here is a archive of hijacked sellers from March 9th, and prior auctions :

eBay denies this hacker's claim that he was able to break into eBay internal databases. If the hacker did not break into eBay systems, how the heck is he able to target ongoing live eBay auctions in specific section such as eBay Motors and choose which live auctins and sellers to inject his famous advertisement into? Perhaps all sellers who advertise on eBay Motors have fallen for a very clever phishing scam by this single hacker?
It is not phishers who are eroding user's trust. Over the past 4 years such obvious scams are rampant on eBay and it appears that eBay has chosen a passive approach to these scammers. Many eBay users, including me went through the natural progression of discovering those scams, reporting them to eBay Security in the scope of thousands per day hoping that eBay will take proactive stand and actually implement measures to prevent these scammers from destroying eBay. However as eBay CEO made her speach on Thursday, the most hunted eBay hacker posted hundreds of scam auctions just a few hours later. The actions speek louder than words. We sincerely hope that this speach was not just another one of those lip service gestures in light of the recent public setback suffered by eBay. We can track the scam on eBay with no special resources using public access to the eBay site. I am sure if eBay really wanted to, they could have squash the scammers long time ago. - Posted by: uneeeq Posted on: 03/09/07 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
