Most ID thefts occur via Telephone.

There is one scam that gets you credit card # for a free vacation and then try to trick you into giving additional personal information. On top of that they got you accept the free vaction by pressing 9 and then you are being billed at $2.99 a minute.

People are often tricked by this as there are legit calls that pull the same free vacation trick only to find you have to sit through 4 hours of high preassure sales for time share. They'll give a vaction alright in hope they can sucker you into buying a time share.
