$1200 for windows?
You're right, do don't need to pay $1200 for windows. Or for OSX ($149 I think). Or Linux. Very observant. It defintely crushes the marketing slogan too. Sure, it's never had a problem running and has never crashed on my computer, but since they're patching some vulnerabilities, that must mean that the software doesn't work at all. Good catch, I almost missed it. Too blinded by my computer always doing what I want it to for me to see how poorly it works I guess. Fooled by a marketing gimic.
