Well... to make it way more functional.

To make a media server or node, and a network/internet client on your TV, as well as a game machine.

It extends the functionality 10 or 100 fold.

I am not familiar with what is availabe for the 360.
but the first Xbox is a bargain @ $100~150 if still available,

I have a dual tuner LinVDR server, and the Xbox's attached to the network act as setop boxes for sat/TV & stored media. Also provide internet accesss, as well as any other computer services. and still plays games too.

The really only reason to have an Xbox (other than games) is to modd it

Probably one reason the PS3 may be a better choice than the 360.

This article is silly & ill-informed & if I had a 360 would avoid the update/patch.
