What I personally have seen is the use of a "honeypot" type of wireless attack.

You go to an public place and you see a free public wi fi (ad hoc) and you connect to it.

Guess what?

It's a trap that is trying to steal your data and plant a worm on your system and it seems to be working as I have seen it twice in 2 very different locations.

That is a very big problem.
