- All newborns will have to be microchipped. Hmm... maybe those loonies from over 2 decades ago weren't quite so loony after all with their claims that people will have ID implants in them. This is just the federal government trying to cut itself off from the (eww) people. Imagine a citizen not being able to enter a federal building... why? "Oh it's a matter of national security". Nonsense - these cards will not stop crazies like McVeigh from attacking federal buildings, they will only prevent people with legitimate business from entering the buildings. As if the airline industry isn't suffering enough, the federal government is also threatening to keep travellers off the aircraft. So whose 2D barcode is being used? Rumsfeld's? Most 2D barcodes are proprietary and you pay $$$$$ to make use of them - whose buddy is getting all the money?
