"But Microsoft cannot control third party applications"?
Isn't that supposed to be the purpose of an OS? To run third party apps? How are they going to run them if they can't control them? What use has anybody with an OS that can't run third party apps? Play with the OS?

"people want their software to work now". Yeah, that's what people want, and vista don't cut it.
