Can't John W Thompson go back to IBM?
Symantec's a joke... mind you, so was OS/2 and that's where he came from.

Also, what's this blather about users making their own decisions? Do we let the blind drive? Do we let the drunk drive? No to both, but the blind and/or drunk drive anyway and the results are painful. Half the problem with Windows is end user stupidity. The other half is indolence and incompetence on Microsoft's part. End user accidents can happen, but when it comes to computers, Microsoft can dumb things down to where a toddler would be happy and as a result people will stop asking questions - which is why they continually continue to bring malware into their systems in the first place.
