I'd prefer to not be hung with ANY rope.

As an employee of an ISV, I definitely understand Microsoft's wish to prevent
piracy of the Windows OS. Otherwise, why produce the OS if it's just going to be
stolen? I feel that the Yellow State is definitely a major improvement over having
your system ripped out from under you because your network connection is down
or the last security update inadvertently caused something to go wrong in WGA
land.

I've actually monitored the data transmitted between the system and MS servers,
and there's nothing in the stream that has me worried, so I say let Microsoft
protect its assets. Maybe if each user of Windows actually had a legitimate copy,
we'd be paying OEM pricing for the commercial released versions.
