Is it really microsoft's fault?
Hold on, let's just think about this! Microsoft issued a patch for this over 3 weeks ago (April 19th I think!). I'm running XP, I patch my system regularly, I have up-to-date anti-virus and firewall software. Guess what? I've not been infected with any sort of virus - EVER and I can't remember the last time my computer crashed! Why? Because I'm careful about what I download / install and I don't open e-mail attachments that aren't from anyone I know or without scanning them first.

I'm sure this isn't all a coincidence. Do you really expect Microsoft to create a full patched OS with all the features of XP without a few vunerabilities. That'd be like buying a car, never servicing it and then complaining about the manufacturer when it breaks down.

And for all those Linux / Mac fans, if 90% of the world's population started using another OS do you really think the virus writers would bother will little-old Microsoft! Don't think so! They write viruses for Windows because it causes maximum damage.

It's fairly simple - patch your system, have an up-to-date anti-virus and install firewall software - it's not hard really - I have a 65 year old father who can do it!
