same thing about Linux!
"...wondering why ANYONE would go out and spend money on something may or may not work before doing a simple web search."
A simple web search to find that Linux is free and really not that hard to set-up PLUS most of what an average user needs comes with the system. AND the caveat is that with a little bit of initial effort, many of their Windows applications will run too!
Best of all, Linux provides a true 64 bit desktop... Windows... sorta does.
