That's the problem
If they don't do something to cut down on their hallmark bloat and performance tax, they're basically DOA with any tech savvy users (and perhaps all those dissatisfied pooter simpletons who have come to experience their "tag" before, which by now has to be in the millions).

If Symantec would come out and state this is one of the areas of improvement they have now addressed and turned around, they might remain a power player through the Vista era and beyond. If not, so long and good riddance NAV and Norton 360.

Their uninstaller routines are also atrocious, as they rarely clean up all the crud they leave behind in the registry. It's insane. Reminds me of Ou's analogy to the bomb squad that arrives at your pad only to stink it up and suck up whatever goodies they find.
