I disagree with this clich?...
that more vulnerabilities are exploited in MS software than other platforms because it has larger market share.
Even well-programmed Windows applications are vulnerable and buggy because there are bugs in the application program interfaces produced in a hurry and under unsound programming practices adopted by Microsoft in order to maintain its dominance. MS decided this because otherwise applications would become compatible with Unix, Linux and OSX.
Unix and Linux are designed to avoid affecting the vital parts of the OS even by mistake of the user. Unix and Linux can crash under attack only when the user leaves all unprotected purposely, such as running always as superuser, or when there is a malfunction in the hardware. I will repeat this information whenever anyone repeats the clich?.
