On TechRepublic: Windows 7: Slower to boot than Vista?

Take a Vista cd, put it in a PC with 32 MB of memory and 190 MB of hard drive space and try to do a minimum install of the OS. Microsoft says Vista Home Basic has the following minumum supported hardware requirements: 800 MHz processor, 512 MB system memory, 20 GB hard drive with 15 GB free space. Per Ubuntu, for a full default installation you must meet the following minimum hardware requirements: Newer than 286 processor, 128 MB system memory, 2 GB free hard drive space. Considering there are vastly more computers out capable of running Ubuntu than are capable of running Vista, one might wonder if you actually had a point.
