Good point
User plays "supposed" QT file, file runs malicious code A-N-D
said file would attempt to alter OS, and some other security
violation that would force a password request window to come
up in the user's face stating that it needs the admin's password
EACH, and EVERY TIME the code would attempt to change
ANYTHING IN THE OS.

For this malicious code to run, the user would have to enter the
Administrator password. Unlike a windows box, that would run it
on it's own. I also use both, win2k and OS X, I find that OS X just
works better.

Perhaps you guys need to actually use OS X (instead of typing
in a few functions in the computer at your local CompUSA and
scurrying away calling that full blown usage).

If they actually used it, then they'd be disappointed with
windows. I mean the two OSes are miles apart. Just look at the
difference between the Dock and the windows equivalent (the
name escapes me at the moment). But the point is they won't let
facts get in the way of their silly rants. Also if they read the
article, it said (and I quote).

A movie file could be created, the firm maintained, that would
cause malicious code to execute when the user opened the
file.

and

Since movie files are not generally thought to carry code, the
flaw could be used to disguise a virus or Trojan horse program
and lure unsuspecting Mac users into running the program.

Also of note is the time it took to fix the potential problem. less
than 3 months. Maybe they're jealous? I mean it usually takes MS
at least 6 months to issue a patch (well if they even decide to
issue a patch). How many unpatched flaws are in IE? Nuff said.
