the real point of HSD is to keep the citizens scared so as to make manipulating election results easier.

The spying on the citizenry thing is more of an added benefit for the people in positions of power, which is also used for the same thing. After all, if we have to suspend the Bill of Rights, well - the situation must be pretty dire, don't you think?

If they had any clue as to why the police action in Iraq is going so badly, the Replicans would never have lost the House and Senate.

This NASA hacking is pretty lame, all things considered. He ****** up, and the US gov. apparently screwed up, and now it's being run further up the flag pole. I hope NASA is paying attention, and that a few more have figured out how to make a password. Or, asked a friend to do it for them, lol.
