"high hopes spam laws would end the onslaught of junk email."

These type of laws are toothless tigers. So the feds caught/charged 4. Lurk in some of the spammer chatrooms, bbses etc. and you will see that there are many more where they came. There is too much money involved for the bad guys to ignore. Spamming is just too easy to do. IMHO technology is the answer. The money has to shift to the solution.

Spammer arrests are like hacker arrests. When Kevin Mitnik was arrested wannabe hackers came out of the woodwork. Same thing here, the feds will make this high profile for a day or two and then what? Nothing. A couple more for each guy will replace them.
