Vista is simply not necessary from a security standpoint. Add to this the fact that machines coming preinstalled with Vista are basically 'Hollywood PCs,' consumers are getting hosed in a couple of different ways. Enormous amounts of DRM built-in, weird EULA, false assertions of a more secure system, bad update system, system resource hogging software, and, of course, it's simply not what most people need... sure, let's all upgrade to Vista.
