Oh, also...
when the law was written for social security, it was clearly written that the SSN would be for the purpose of taxes. Not a company, court or agency complied with that... go read the law. Banks, credit card companies and the many others that use it just decided to "bypass" that portion of the law because it was so much convenient for them to use an already establish identifier on each and every one of us. Listen to Bob Seger's song "Feel Like a Number"... how so very true!

Also with my last post... just because you didn't put a SSN on that rebate form, it would take a data broker a few seconds to match your personal information up... bingo! there is your SSN!
