Selling My Social Security Number?
I am outraged that ANY company is allowed access to my social security number. How do they get it to sell in the first place? I have long beeen an advocate of NOT using SSN's for identification purposes. As far as I'm concerned, only three people/organizations need my SSN-(1) Me, (2) My employer, and (3) the IRS. It should be against the law for any company or individual to require my SSN as a condition of doing business or providing a service. What a disgrace!
