don't trust M$ - everything they do has a money grab control angle to it.
just because M$ says its a standard doesn't make it so.
i'll bet they think they have the right to change the specs anytime they feel like it.
and proprietary is as proprietary does.
a royalty-free patent license does not guarantee open use.
they can cancel and give at their leisure.
and just because adobe requires registration to get the pdf generation specs doesn't make it a closed system.
granted not as open as i would like.
but at least we don't have to buy a new operating system to get the reader software.
