Hey that's the same copy-out and copy-back trick used in video game cheats!
Except you're copying somebody else' card without their knowledge or consent. Image it to a compatible fake card, and spend away. Works when the card is tied to centralized data. Otherwise you wouldn't need to take images of others' cards.

You could just put money on your card, copy the card, spend your cash, copy the backup, spend that, copy the backup, repeat, repeat happy I think SRP M-Power cards, college copy/vending/food cards, and newer buscards (mass-transit) have on-card currency, but it is worse in SE asia where it is the general currency itself is e-counterfeited rather than a single-company credit.

I wonder if one can download some $1000 thai e-currency smart-card images off of eMule happy.
