Security is a broken record.
It's true that the subject of security is boring. Boring reminds me of the whole "broken record" concept. But unfortunately what I see being overplayed isn't the action, but the message.

I think security has become one of those things where everybody knows they should do it because it's what they hear over and over again. But nobody wants to spend the money to do so because there is no direct ROI that you can be calculated. But how much more data loss must occur before the action of getting laptop security, of getting email security, will become what's overplayed, rather than the "you should..." message?

Hopefully the people at this conference will be there in order to learn from each other and not just to show off their products. Hopefully they're all there to realize the importance of security in this digital world and what they can do to improve upon it...
